Located on Nguyen Chi Thanh Street in Con Dao District, the prison was established under French colonial rule as a harsh prison complex, infamous for isolated cells such as the “tiger cages.” Throughout both resistance wars, many revolutionary fighters were imprisoned and perished here. Today, the prison is preserved as a historical site, open to visitors who wish to learn about the nation’s heroic past.
